Some Windows 11 Editions Will Coming With Dark Mode By Default

Tech companies continue to gradually switch to dark mode on both portable and desktop platforms. It looks like Microsoft now wants to activate the dark mode by default in Windows 11. According to company officials, some versions of Windows 11 will now come with dark mode enabled by default.

Microsoft also says that consumer versions of Windows 11 will continue to ship in standard mode. For those who are unaware, the Home edition of Windows 10 currently defaults to standard mode and Pro uses dark mode. Enterprise and Education versions are currently using standard mode.

The technology giant will use the dark mode for Enterprise and Education as of Windows 11, while Windows 11 will use a light-colored theme on the Home and Pro side. Microsoft also adds that consumer versions of Windows 11 will continue to ship in standard mode.

Windows 11’s Personalization page allows us to quickly select from multiple themes at the top of the page. For example, when we choose a darker theme, Windows automatically turns on the dark mode and applies the colors to the Start Menu as well.

On the other hand, Microsoft is currently testing six themes and several wallpapers for Windows 11. In addition, their number may increase in the coming period.
