OPPO announced that it has started production in its new factory in Istanbul, thus increasing its global production capacity and strengthening its long-term investments in the region. Supporting the local economy, the opening of the facility helped create hundreds of jobs and strengthened OPPO’s supply chain.
Rapidly growing, OPPO has become the world’s fourth largest smartphone brand. Currently, OPPO is the only smartphone brand to establish a factory in Turkey by obtaining the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) certificate, and it also allows OPPO works to be produced from scratch instead of assembling these imported ready-made components. . . The works produced in the factory do justice to the word ‘Made in Turkey’.

About 850 workers, 99 percent of whom are Turkish citizens, are employed at OPPO’s 10,200 m2 factory, which is located just a few kilometers from the regional center in Ataşehir and was built in four months. The factory handles the entire manufacturing process of smartphones through a highly automated Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production line instead of conventional assembly. In addition, it is claimed that the factory will provide approximately 10,000 indirect employment opportunities when the supply chains are calculated.
A Series and Reno Lite model smartphones, which are popular among consumers in Turkey, are produced in the factory, which operates to meet the increasing demand locally. Entering the Turkish market for the first time in 2019, OPPO displayed a great market performance across the region. According to data from IDC, OPPO’s global sales grew by more than 60% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2021.
